01 / Overview
About the project
byFinance is an installable app for tracking personal income and spending. After signing in once, a 4–6 digit PIN unlocks it every visit, and the dashboard shows balance, this month's summary, monthly trends and a breakdown by category.
It's built on Next.js and Supabase. All sensitive logic lives in Postgres: row-level security per user, PIN hashing and verification through SECURITY DEFINER functions with pgcrypto, lockout after five wrong attempts, and functions that process due recurring transactions.
